I'm pretty much down to buying a soundbar tomorrow. I do not like the wires, my aptartment is small enough, and I just want a little extra bass when playin my ps3 or watchin a movie. I'm looking for something with a built in subwoofer but external is fine. Just need one that will mate up with my 42" LG Lcd tv with no problems, one that has good reviews, not too much to ask. 10 points to the most helpful answer.

I'm also researching on home theater soundbars for my bedroom system too. I've narrowed down to the Yamaha YSP-4000. It has got the latest features like 1080p HDMI and ipod compatibility. Most importantly it also provides upconversion of video composite and component signals to HDMI. The signal can then be output via a single HDMI cable to a monitor for enjoying high-definition video quality. For something much cheaper you may want to check out the Philips HTS8100. Well reviewed by cnet and currently going for less than $300 at Amazon:

How will a standard definition program look on my 42" DLP screen? Will it still look as good as on my tube TV?

Yes it should. I just picked up the Samsung 42" DLP on Friday.
If you view the screen at the recommended distance all of the programs look great and I don't have the HD Cable box hooked up yet, I hooked my cable line directly to the TV.

Any info on quality costco simplicity wall mount model # SLF1-B1 would be appreciated.?

will it work with a 50"-52" sony, samsung, panasonic , philips or sharp?

The only Simplicity mount on the Costco site is the SXDP3-B1. See the link, it's a universal mount that accepts up to 175 lb flat panel TVs from 32 - 60".

I can't find any other reference to a Simplicity mount or the company itself, so if this isn't the same thing I'd suggest comparing the one Costco sells to the SLF1-B1 and/or asking them.

Or buy the mount, check the specs that come with it, and if it won't fit costco have a very good return policy, so you can bring it back.
