What Is The Average Life Of A sony bravia lcd TV?

i was just wondering because i did not buy the extended warranty.

Generally most TVs will start to play up not long after warranty runs out - but they tend to be the cheaper ones.

The earliest I have personally heard of a customer having problems with their Bravia was when the TV was about 5-6yrs old.

I have learnt that most customers don't actually realise that they have had the TV for longer than that.

Due to the Bravia being the No1 LCD TV you can buy at the moment , I would guess you should not have any problems for many years (providing the TV is looked after).
Hopefully you will never have a problem , but it is hard to answer as the Bravia is still a fairly new design by Sony, but like I said earlier , they are the best LCD TV available at present.

PC Speakers and High Def LCD TV?

I am going to be buying a Samsung LN40A550 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV. I am needing to know if it would be possible to use a good set of 5.1-7.1 pc speakers to replace the tv audio and if so how would i hook it up..through the headphone jack? thx

You only need a set of 2.0 speakers for the TV set, as most outputs on it will be stereo, not Dolby Surround...

If you want Dolby Surround you'll need an amp with optical inputs anyways...

And Dolby is ususually prevalent on DVDS...not on TV shows.

TV QUESTION: HD FULL, HD, 600HZ, PLASMA, LCD (comfussed :S!)?

Ok, so heres the plan/question
I finally start work again next week and plan to save up for an HDTV this time.
Up until this day me and my family still don't have an HD television
we're not poor or anything like that, just.. never felt the need to change
our beloved year 2000 Digital 32inch Sony Trixon tv :] (haha)

When they say HD or HD ready, they mean a 720p TV. Full HD is 1080p.

Whether or not you need a 720p TV or a 1080p TV depends on your seating distance from the TV and what size the TV is.

If you're into sports, movies and/or gaming...i recommend going with a Plasma TV! From Panasonic or Samsung...not LG though!

Plasma TV's have the highest "native" contrast ratios(5,000,000:1). Giving them the blackest blacks, whitest whites and most vivid and rich looking colors! They also have the fastest response times(.001ms) and fastest refresh rates(600hz). Making them the best at producing the sharpest and smoothest motion. Perfect for sports, movies and gaming!

Rain got into my 42 INCH LCD TV?

about 3 weeks ago i was moving and like an idiot the mover didnt not put a cover on my LCD tv. it wasnt raining bad at all i believe the drops of rain were 1MM max in size and it wasnt alot of rain coming down. i havent turned on my TV since i moved because i currently dont need ot use it. Anyone who has been through this could u help me?

If it's been three weeks, the set's probably dried out. Try turning it on. If your TV didn't get very wet, it's probably OK.

I had a camera get caught in the rain a few years ago and it started growing mold inside; it took a bit of work cleaning that up and killing the mold. Could have been prevented if the photographer had put on the rain cover, but I digress . . .

I'm moving from Canada to Spain, will my Samsung LCD TV and Wii work over there properly? Help!?

1. I'm aware I would have to convert the power, but am not sure how easy and reliable it is to do that (I've heard horror stories of TV meltdowns)...

Your best bet is to sell it when you are still in Canada and buy a European TV when you get to Spain.

(1) The Power in the USA & Canada is 110VAC 60Hz in the European Union the power is 230VAC 50Hz The frequency deference will be the main problem

(2) Your TV uses Analogue NTSC And Digital ATSC Tuner The European Union is PAL Colour Analogue and DVB-T Digital

I think you will be getting into a lot of unnecessary heartache trying to get your TV & Wii working in Europe
